Magpul Industries and Casey Currie Partner Up for Trophy Truck-Level Desert Racing Program

2016 Magpul Desert Partnership HeaderCorona, CA (Aug 31, 2016) – Magpul and Casey Currie are proud to announce a new partnership with a desert-racing focus, covering the remaining races of 2016 and continuing into 2017. Under this new partnership, Casey in the Magpul Trophy Truck Jeep will be competing in the Baja 1000 this November, and the Mint 400, Baja 500 and Baja 1000 in 2017.

Both parties are excited to see what can be achieved when you combine Casey’s experience and success in desert racing with Magpul’s increased support. Magpul and Casey have had a partnership for the last several years but this new Trophy Truck Jeep provides a new, larger platform where fans of both brands can unite in their passion for the outdoors, off-road racing and adventure.

Casey commented, “I’m excited on the new build, we have put a lot of time and effort into the new Jeep. I’m sure we will have our bugs to fine tune, but we have taken a proven template from the Hammers-style racing and added a Trophy Truck twist.”

In addition to the desert racing program Magpul and Casey will continue to push forward on the Jeep side of the partnership going to all the large Jeep events with the Magpul Jeep.

The racing teams use of Magpul apparel will also be the first exposure for many in the off-road racing world to these new product categories from the Brand. Whether building race vehicles in the shop to days pre-running in Baja. The shorts, pants and shirts from Magpul that the team will be using will provide a level of comfort, durability, performance that allow them to focus on racing.

“We couldn’t be more excited to participate in Casey’s push into the highest level of desert racing. The idea of taking on some of the worlds toughest races with a new technology race vehicle is exactly the kind challenge we can get behind,” said Troy McMullen from Magpul’s offices in Austin, TX.

The truck will be debuting at the SCORE Baja 1000 Qualifying session during the SEMA show at the Las Vegas Speedway. Then, just over a week later, the first event for Casey’s Magpul Trophy Truck Jeep will be the 48th annual, 2016 Baja 1000. It will be run between November 16-20, 2016.

ABOUT CASEY CURRIE
Casey Currie not only grew up around racing—he lives it. Born into the world of Off-Road and NASCAR through the likes of his Father and Grandfather, the name Currie has been synonymous with racing since before Casey’s time. His penchant for chasing checkered flags was inevitable, and on a dirt bike at the age of 5, Casey began his racing career. If it was meant for driving, Casey has driven it and driven it well. With a long line of podiums and wins in Baja, Super Moto, and Short Course racing, Casey is arguably the most multi-faceted driver in the Off-Road space. Earning his seat with Monster Energy and winning his first Pro Lite Championship in the TORC series in 2010, while still an avid participant in as many other races as he can attend, the California native continues to push the envelope. No matter the field, or class in which he races, Casey’s consistent focus is on how to be faster. “We never go home and just prep—we always go home and make better.”
